Job Placements

Congratulations to Charifa, who came in and rang the bell today to celebrate her position as medical assistant with Advanced Pain Management. Charifa said she’d recommend Career Collaborative to anyone with long-term employment goals.

CONGRATULATIONS to Darrell, who just completed our August Job-Search Course and rang the bell today for his new position as a Member Service Representative with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care!

“I am very, very happy,” Nigusae told the class. Nigusae is now officially an employee of Newton-Wellesley Hospital! He starts his new position as a Room Service Ambassador in the next few weeks. Nigusae is thankful for the help he received with his resume, cover letter, and interviewing.

“I’m finally beginning. That’s what Susan told us, that everything begins when you get a job.”

CONGRATULATIONS to Joan, who came in and rang the bell today in celebration of her position as a Senior Technical Support Engineer with Bit9- she starts on Monday!


A huge thank you to U.S. Trust for connecting Career Collaborative with this group of employees for our Practice Interviews! These volunteers provided valuable interview feedback to our program participants and we hope to see them again soon.

August 2015

Job Placements

Alain stopped by today to ring the bell and tell everyone that he has begun working full-time as a Security Officer at Cityside Bar. He told the group that he’s enjoying his new job, making good money, and that his employer is about to train him how to become a bartender.

When Jessica started the Career Collaborative workshop in February, she said that she had trouble finding a job with both a workable schedule and an appropriate salary. She is so excited and happy to start working at Tufts Dental School as an Administrative Assistant, where she will receive the salary and schedule that she has been searching for. Jessica says that she is very thankful to everyone at Career Collaborative for helping her become more confident with interviewing by giving her the tools that she needed to excel. She told the current class to be determined and push themselves in order to get their target job. We are so happy for you, Jessica!


Four weeks and 20 practice interviews later, we are proud to congratulate all 12 of our August Job-Search graduates, who completed the course this past Friday!


Leosha is now a two year graduate of Career Collaborative and a new employee of Tufts Health Plan! She has been in her role as a Member Services Representative since April. Leosha has already received three “High Five” awards and recognized for her excellent customer service.

Roberto works as a Site Lead in the mailroom at Genzyme. Last week, he received the Silver Star Award for outstanding customer service and excellence in the workplace. He also got an American Express gift card.

You earned it, Roberto. Congratulations!


Last Thursday, Lord and Taylor partnered with Wells Fargo and Career Collaborative to host a “Dress for Career Success” Fashion Show at the Prudential Mall. Two Career Collaborative participants modeled in the show. Check out Chanelle and Abdoul as they showcase looks for networking events as well as business casual and business professional workplaces.

Job Placements

Jonte is now a Teacher’s Assistant at Sunshine Academy. As a Teacher’s Assistant, Jonte is one step closer to obtaining her Early Childhood Education Certificate to one day become an Early Education Teacher.Here is Jonte with her son, Messiah. Jonte said she is excited to start her new position at Sunshine Academy. She will now be working with her career coach for two years!

Sharla completed the June workshop and has just received a job offer. Sharla will start her new position on Monday as an Administrative Assistant at Exposure Lighting- an architectural lighting company. She is excited to start working in a creative environment and to learn more about the lighting industry. Sharla said that she is thankful to be part of the Career Collaborative program because it has encouraged and inspired her to pursue her career goals.


Today, we had fifteen Career Collaborative participants complete the career-readiness workshop! Congratulations to Sonila, Asha, Marie, Berhane, Dung, Denese, Solomon, Glory, Elnora, Herby, Carolyn, Kedeset, and Vermilie. Two participants, Alain and Genet, are not pictured. Many participants have already started interviewing! Good things are happening, keep up the good work.
