The Philanthropy Connection (TPC), a Boston-area women’s collective giving organization, granted Career Collaborative $30,000 toward incorporating financial literacy in its program. After a 7-month long vetting process, TPC’s 200+ members chose eight nonprofits for major grants. Their gift will help Career Collaborative:
• add financial literacy topics to its Job-Readiness and Job-Search Course.
• provide ongoing coaching related to budgeting and financial goals.
• host financial literacy workshops.

Placements

Sheryl (pictured at right) started her new position at the United States Postal Service as a Mail Processing Clerk last week. “I’m working full-time now and I’m really happy,” she told the class. Sheryl’s advice to those who are job searching: be persistent and never doubt yourself.

Alex started his new Beverage Stocker job at Sodexo.

Boston Medical Center has a new employee! Muchenew (pictured at right) stopped by on his birthday to ring the bell and share that he got hired as an Environmental Services Worker.

Chandler (pictured at left) stopped by to celebrate his two years of continuous employment as a Maintenance Technician II!

During her first two years of employment, Bilkis (pictured at right) has thrived. Last year, Newton-Wellesley Hospital promoted her to Data Quality Specialist. Bilkis has continued making career progress and with the help of her career coach, and this month she got a new job as a Patient Coordinator II at Massachusetts General Hospital.
